What are the differences between Elfin Fountain E1+ and E1 Lite?
The key differences are:
- Power Supply: E1+ supports both battery and plug-in modes, and E1 Lite is plug-in only.
- Dispensing Modes: E1+ offers Intelligent Mode and Timer Mode, and E1 Lite provides a Continuous Flow Mode.
- Filters: The filters for E1+ and E1 Lite are not interchangeable. E1 Lite filters cannot be used on E1+, and vice versa.
How often do I need to change the filter?
We recommend changing the filter every 3-4 weeks to ensure optimal performance and maintain the highest quality of water for your pets. Additionally, the filter life indicator on the Elfin Fountain will turn solid orange to remind you when it's time to change the filter.
How often do you recommend cleaning the Elfin Fountain?
We recommend cleaning the Elfin Fountain once a week. However, cleaning the Elfin Fountain is not like a chore. All you need to do is take the water tank away from the base, disassemble the parts (the water tray, the tank, the conduit, and the impeller), and rinse and scrub them to clean. It's as easy as a breath, and there's no pump to worry about!
What is the Care Kit? Is it necessary?
No, it is not a necessity for regular maintenance. The Care Kit is an optional choice for pet parents wanting the best results. For routine care, simply rinse the water conduit and the impeller during each fountain cleaning.
Why do you call Elfin Fountain a pumpless fountain?
‘Pumpless’ in the context of our fountain refers to the elimination of a conventional submerged pump, which is a common source of noise and maintenance hassle in traditional pet fountains. Instead, we use a magnetically driven impeller. This innovative design simplifies cleaning, reduces noise, and enhances the safety of the water your pets drink. By rethinking the way water is circulated, we've managed to keep the benefits of a pump—like water movement and filtration—without the usual complications.

I really love the new quieter and continuous flow design! I think my only complaint is it does not hold charge like the previous design. We frequently lose power and I loved knowing they'd always have water 💧 i will have to consider which one to keep 😅

First of all, thank you so much for supporting us again and getting the new model after more than 2 years since the campaign—it really means a lot! We’re glad to hear you enjoy the new design.
Just to clarify, the new E1 Lite model is designed for wired use only and doesn’t come with a built-in battery like the earlier version. If you notice it not working as expected, please make sure it’s plugged in properly and the water level stays above the MIN line.

Absolutely the best fountain I have had. No more tedious pump cleaning. I keep a tooth brush and pipe cleaner to give the parts a quick simple clean. My 8 cats love it and are drinking much more water. We keep in plugged in as the motion sensor mode drains the battery quicker than we like. But no problem plugged in.
