E1+ Combo

I am one of the 8000 from Kickstarter. I bought 2 sets. I was going to give one to my son and keep one for my cat. Unfortunately, my cat died before he could benefit so I gave it to my daughter and her cat. My son’s cats started using it as soon as it was set up (which was super easy). My daughter’s cat was used to her continuous flow fountain and wasn’t sure about this new thing but 3 days in, she was using it happily. Both servants appreciate the ease of cleaning, replacing filters and have yet to replace the impeller set up yet. Highly recommend this fountain!

Our dog has lived the miserable life of drinking boring flat water out of a bowl for the last 13 years. When we got 2 cats, we bought this fountain because "cats need moving water to drink." Well, turns out our dog does too! She thoroughly enjoys the refreshing moving water from the fountain. All 70lbs of her is now well hydrated.

So it's really inconvenient to refill this fountain on a daily or more often basis. One of the latches popped off after owning it only a handful of days. You have to pick up the whole container, remove the fountain head, undo both latches, remove the base, then remove the filter and second base, just to refill it.

So instead, we refill the lazy and convenient way: fill up a large cup of water and pour it on top. However, the "overflow" hole is so thin and right on the edge that we have to pour our water verrrrryyyyy sloooowlllly so as not to spill over the edges. We have to do this three times in order to fill it. And we are hunched over. Just not so fun. This fountain would be 5 stars if the overflow hole was slightly bigger or designed in a different way so that refilling was faster and more convenient. I recently babysat some cats at our neighbor's house and their fountain overflow was a raised "plus sign" of holes. No issue refilling quickly with that one.

One of my cats started using it immediately and a second one messed with it for a few days before she started using it too. I knew the third one would take a bit but after a couple week he has started using it too. So just one of 4 refusing to give it the time of day. As far as maintenance, way easier that previous fountains with a pump that was so hard to clean. This one is so easy to clean and maintain! A win as far as I'm concerned.

Build quality appears to be high, shipping was timely. Only con would be instead of a timer function would prefer a constant flow mode.

My bengal cat is super picky with drinking water. Before this one, she would refuse to drink from water fountains and would drink only from taps. She now goes often to Elfin water fountain. Her curiosity is spiked when the water stops and she quickly drinks water when the water comes on. It’s super funny to watch her waiting or tapping the fountain to try to turn on the water. It became kind of a game for her. I love it!
