How often do I need to change the filter?
We recommend changing the filter every 3-4 weeks to ensure optimal performance and maintain the highest quality of water for your pets. Additionally, the filter life indicator on the Elfin Fountain will turn solid orange to remind you when it's time to change the filter.
How often do you recommend cleaning the Elfin Fountain?
We recommend cleaning the Elfin Fountain once a week. However, cleaning the Elfin Fountain is not like a chore. All you need to do is take the water tank away from the base, disassemble the parts (the water tray, the tank, the conduit, and the impeller), and rinse and scrub them to clean. It's as easy as a breath, and there's no pump to worry about!
Can I use the Elfin Fountain for my dog?
Elfin Fountain is primarily designed for cats, with a water capacity of 2L (0.52 gallons). If you need to use it for a dog, it may be more suitable for small or medium breeds due to its size.
Can I use the Elfin Fountain while keeping it plugged in?
Yes, you can. We provide both options: wired and wireless usage for the Elfin Fountain. For its wired use, we also feature a downward-facing charging port design to prevent any possibility of electricity leakage.
Can I directly wash it in the dishwasher?
No, we do not recommend washing the entire Elfin Fountain in the dishwasher. However, the water tray is made of stainless steel and is dishwasher safe. For the other parts, please disassemble them and wash by hand to ensure they remain in good condition.
What dispensing modes does Elfin Fountain have?
Elfin Fountain has two dispensing modes: Intelligent Mode and Timer Mode. Intelligent Mode is designed to attract pets to drink more when they pass by or have not drunk for a while. Timer Mode dispenses water at set intervals to meet regular hydration needs.
What is the Care Kit? Is it necessary?
No, it is not a necessity for regular maintenance. The Care Kit is an optional choice for pet parents wanting the best results. For routine care, simply rinse the water conduit and the impeller during each fountain cleaning.
Why do you call Elfin Fountain a pumpless fountain?
‘Pumpless’ in the context of our fountain refers to the elimination of a conventional submerged pump, which is a common source of noise and maintenance hassle in traditional pet fountains. Instead, we use a magnetically driven impeller. This innovative design simplifies cleaning, reduces noise, and enhances the safety of the water your pets drink. It is extremely easy to clean and to maintain. It encourages my cats to drink automatically via the sensor and both are drinking far more already.

The product seems great and I want to get this for my cat but the dimensions are too tall for him. Hopefully you can make this in different sizes in the future to accommodate more cats of different sizes!

Cats love it, fast shipping, and it’s super consumer friendly. The pump design is perfect. The small compact submersible pumps get too clogged up and gross and too difficult to fully clean. The tiny impeller and shaft are so easy to clean and disassemble. If your cats prefer running water this is definitely the best fountain out there. Plus backup battery for short term power outages
